Before that, I had only\u00a0 gotten 1 other dog. He is 1 of the best things I have ever gotten. We often get to play together and I get so much joy from him. Of course, he gets a lot of love from me. He is getting older, which makes me a little sad, but I hope we will get to have many more years together.<\/p>\n<h1>Different Forms of \u201cget\u201d<\/h1>\n<p>This little story is a clear example of how \u201cget\u201d can be used in many tenses and is used in all of the verb forms: present\/infinitive, past, past participle, and present participle, (continuous.)<\/p>\n<h1>Present<\/h1>\n<p>The present form is easy. It is just \u201cget.\u201d This is true for the phrasal verbs, main verbs, and others. Here are examples.<\/p>\n<p>We often get to play together and I get so much joy from him.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, he gets a lot of love from me.<\/p>\n<h1>Past<\/h1>\n<p>\u201cGet\u201d is an irregular verb, so it changes a lot when you form the past tense. It changes to \u201cgot.\u201d My story only has 1 example.<\/p>\n<p>I got my big sweet dog a few years ago.<\/p>\n<h1>Past Participle<\/h1>\n<p>The past participle of \u201cget\u201d\u00a0 is \u201cgotten.\u201d It is used in the perfect tenses. in my story, I use past perfect and present perfect tense.<\/p>\n<p>Before that, I had only gotten 1 other dog.<\/p>\n<p>He is 1 of the best things I have ever gotten.<\/p>\n<h1>Present Participle<\/h1>\n<p>The present participle form, \u201cgetting,\u201d is the form that we use in the continuous tenses.
