the verb get is a complicated little verb that does everything. One of the meanings of “get” is “understand.” This is important to know, but if you want to use “get,” you need to practice. This is a list of questions that you can use for practice. All of them use “get” to mean “understand.”

Conversation Questions

  • Do you have problems with getting people’s jokes?
  • Do people get your jokes?
  • Have you ever gotten a joke that no one else has gotten?
  • Do people get you or do you think that nobody gets you?
  • Have you ever told yourself that you will never get English rules? Why?
  • Do you wish you had a good friend who really got you?
  • Are you a person who really gets people?
  • Do you get why the world is so crazy?
  • When did you get that “get” is a complicated little verb?
